Mission

The Mises Institute Netherlands seeks to promote the ideas of the economist and philosopher Ludwig von Mises and other thinkers of the Austrian School, and to give those ideas a recognised place in public debate throughout the Dutch-speaking world. The Austrian School examines how people create social order and prosperity through voluntary cooperation, the division of labour, entrepreneurship and free markets. It emphasises the importance of individual liberty, private property and an understanding of economic processes for a free and peaceful society. The Institute promotes the ideas and insights of the Austrian School to a wider audience and contributes to public debate by analysing contemporary economic, political and cultural developments from an Austrian perspective.
