Magdalena Bernaciak is Assistant Professor at the Department of Politics and Political Science at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). Prior to her appointment at AUBG, she worked as Senior Researcher at European at the European Trade Union Institute’s (ETUI) in Brussels, where she specialized in EU’s economic, employment and social policies. She was also a visiting fellow at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (WSI) in Düsseldorf and at the University of Warwick’s Industrial Relations Research Unit (IRRU).
Magdalena holds a PhD degree in Political Economy from Central European University, Budapest. Her research interests lie in the political economy of EU eastern enlargement; intra-EU labor migration and its regulation; interest group politics at EU and national levels; employment relations in Central-Eastern Europe; and transnational cooperation among trade unions. Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Common Market Studies, Economic and Industrial Democracy, European Journal of Industrial Relations, Industrial Relations Journal; she is also the editor of Market Expansion and Social Dumping in Europe (Routledge, 2015).
